We are so excited to announce the creation and mission of the Tanika R. Cohill Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund seeks to assist recipients with receiving training to enter professions for which a college degree is not required. At the launch of the scholarship fund, recipients will be students in the state tested nursing assistant (STNA) program at Nurturing Minds Training Center in Cincinnati, OH. It is our goal to expand to include barbers, hair stylists, insurance agents and other careers that required skilled training is necessary.
This scholarship honors the life and legacy of its namesake. Tanika R. Cohill was the jewel of her family. She was born in Hamilton, OH to Tina Bristow Cohill and Henry Cohill. Although Tanika experienced health challenges, including regular dialysis treatments and breast cancer, she never allowed those challenges to define her or hinder her from being a blessing to others. Tanika earned an associates degree from Brown Mackie College and worked for 17 years at Mercy Health in Cincinnati.
Colleen Bristow, with assistance from Vernell Bristow, founded the scholarship fund to keep alive Tanika’s desire to help others. The partnership between the Tanika R. Cohill Memorial Scholarship Fund and ArkBuilder’s, Inc. expands the capacity of the mission.
We invite you to join our effort by sharing information about the scholarship fund and making a financial contribution. To support you may donate to ArkBuilders via PayPal and add “Tanika Cohill Scholarship Fund” to the special instructions field.
